Hendrik Mück studied Bioscience and later Microbiology and Biochemistry for his Master's at the University of Rostock, graduating top of the year in both programs. His Master's thesis investigated the effects of hypoxia on glioblastoma cells and their response to arginine deprivation induced by a bacterial arginine deiminase.
In 2024, he spent several months in Australia, where he worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and at Edith Cowan University under the guidance of Prof. Michelle Colgrave, where he focused on mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis of lupin proteins.
For his Ph.D., he joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Maria Robles. His doctoral research focuses on how stroke affects neurovascular circadian clocks and how this impacts stroke outcome. His project is part of CRC1744, a multidisciplinary research consortium dedicated to understanding compartmentalized cellular networks in neurovascular diseases.
